This middle-type Phra Nang Phaya, Sanghati, is considered one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever seen. It is made of red clay with small grains and traces of burial clay. The figure has a broad triangular wing shape, with both knees visible and the triangular form sharply defined. The head is oval, with a very distinct facial frame. Below the facial frame, on the forehead, there is a notable depression, which is an important characteristic of the Phra Nang Phaya, in all three sub-types of the Sanghati.

The hair is shaped like a pointed lotus bud, standing perpendicular. Both eyes are slightly raised but clear, with a protruding nose and a slightly curved mouth. The right ear is sharply defined and extends to the shoulder, with the tips of the ear formed into two small lines. The left ear also extends to the shoulder and connects with the raised fabric of the robe that slopes down into the right armpit. The Sanghati line is a flat piece that connects from the left shoulder and descends to the center of the abdomen.

The right hand is positioned upright above the lap, while the left hand is bent at the elbow, curving inward in a hook-like shape with a pointed end. The lap is relatively wide.

The back is smooth, with fingerprints pressed into the back, forming a circular pattern in the center of the figure. It has traces of small grains and burial clay that are well preserved and look very good.

I would like to thank the owner of this middle-type Phra Nang Phaya, Sanghati, Mr. Thanatat Thongniam, for generously providing images for this presentation.
