This Phra Pong Suphan, old face type, is considered legendary by Phra Ajarn Lop of Wat Pak Nam Phasi Charoen and is currently owned by Mr. Thanatat Thongniam. It is one of the most beautiful green clay Phra Pong Suphan statues. The figure features wide triangular wings that taper at the tips, forming a square shape.

The main figure is intact, with both knees and ears clearly visible. The hair is styled in a pointed lotus shape, with a large base. The facial frame is distinct, featuring water lines that indicate natural characteristics.

The left eye is prominent, while the right eye is slightly sunken, showcasing the artistry of the old face type.

The right ear of the statue is long, curving upward to the right. The chest of the figure is high and shaped like a bull’s head, with a slight indentation in the center of the chest. The left collarbone is indented, forming a sharp triangular point.

Below the left nipple are three small marks, and there is one growth below the right nipple.

The right arm is straight, with the hand resting above the lap. The left arm is bent at the elbow, with a large palm resting on the lap, and the thumb is raised high. The fingertips are elongated and slightly curved.

On the left foot, there is one growth protruding from the middle of the shin, while the right foot is raised above the lap.

The back features fingerprints, with traces of burial clay adhering to both the front and back. Most importantly, there should be cut marks at all three corners, visible as natural cuts, with some points lifted or dipped. If the edges are smooth, it could indicate that the statue was stamped from a new mold or is a replica.

I would like to thank the owner of this old face type Phra Pong Suphan, Mr. Thanatat Thongniam, for generously providing images for this presentation.
