This large type Phra Rod is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved pieces, featuring a clean surface. The details pressed into the mold are sharp and clear, with the wings closely trimmed to the mold’s frame, giving the figure a slightly narrower appearance, which makes it look taller than others.
Additionally, this statue is deeply pressed into the mold, causing the head to tilt slightly to the right. Other artistic characteristics are very distinct, with deep waterfall lines visible. There is a single line under the left arm that flows down to two lines beneath the lap and three lines beneath the base.
The bottom base has pressing marks made for easy removal from the mold, causing it to curve upward.
The back of the figure is curved like a tortoise shell and features beautiful fingerprint impressions.
I would like to thank the owner of this large type Phra Rod, Mr. Thanatat Thongniam, for generously providing images for this presentation.
