This Phra Somdej Wat Rakhang, Large Mold, Type 2 is a beautiful white amulet that is exceptionally well-preserved. The most distinctive feature is the brown tung oil residue that has emerged on the surface, particularly in the deeper areas of the amulet, giving it a sense of depth and a clearly aged appearance.

The amulet features pinholes, worm trails, and both large and small sacred grains throughout, consistent with the theory of Phra Somdej Wat Rakhang Kositaram.

The mold frame is very sharply defined, with a groove on the left side running down from the top to the arched niche near the elbow of the Buddha figure. The center of the chest has a slightly deep groove, characteristic of the sanghati edge.

Both arms are sharply defined, extending perpendicularly with tung oil residue emphasizing the depth of the figure. The left upper arm slightly recedes, in accordance with the Buddha’s artistic style of the Phra Somdej Wat Rakhang, Large Mold series.

The left foot rests almost touching the right knee, and all three levels of the base are beautifully intact. The back of the amulet is smooth, with rough edges on all four sides showing ant trail patterns.

I would like to extend my gratitude to Mr. Thanathat Thongniam for allowing me to view and providing the images of this Phra Somdej Wat Rakhang Kositaram, Large Mold, Type 2, for this description.
