Phra Somdej Wat Rakhang Kositaram, Large Mold, Type 4 by Somdet Phra Buddhacharn (To Phrommarangsi)

This particular Phra Somdej Wat Rakhang is yellow due to the use of tung oil, and contains a significant amount of material, with visible pinholes, worm trails, and sacred grains, consistent with the theory of Phra Somdej Wat Rakhang Kositaram. The figure shows considerable contraction, or perhaps the mold was pressed shallowly, resulting in a slender, sharp appearance while still adhering to all theoretical features. The back of the mold is smooth, with some edges chipped in an ant trail pattern. The back also has tung oil residue, which has evaporated into a dark brown color.
