This particular Phra Somdej Wat Rakhang is a Sam Base Mold, Second Mold, the same type as the famous amulet owned by Mr. Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, known for its distinctive clear lacquer coating, and is part of the legendary collection, often considered one of the most beautiful in Thailand. However, this amulet is clean and white, almost as if it were a new piece. It was highly praised by Khun Kitthi Thamcharat (also known as Hea Kuang) as one of the most beautiful amulets.

Upon closer examination, you will notice that while this amulet has shallow relief, all details are fully intact, except for the sanghati line, which is very faint. Hea Kuang described that the ears are faintly visible, and the Sam lines are shallow but sharp—characteristic of the Sam Base Mold of Phra Somdej Wat Rakhang. The texture of this amulet is clean and soft, as described by Hea Tao (Khun Wirot Baiprasert), who explained that the amulet was made with a significant amount of “Sa” paper mixed in, resulting in a soft texture with a yellow-brown color. It also features pinholes, worm trails, and small sacred grains, consistent with the theory of Somdet Buddhacharn. The back of the amulet is a flat board, following the theory of the Wat Rakhang Kositaram Phra Somdej amulets.

I would like to thank Mr. Thanathat Thongniam for generously providing the images of this Phra Somdej Wat Rakhang, Sam Base Mold for this description, sharing knowledge and experience for collective learning on this platform.
